The official part of the WU Ball 2023 will take place in the Festsaal of the Hofburg Vienna. At the beginning, the inaugural committee will lead the ceremonial opening at 9:00 p.m. and then the WU Ball will be officially opened with a great choreography after the welcoming speeches of the ÖH chairman and the rector. The Ziehrer Hofball Orchestra and the BROADWAY Big Band will perform the musical entertainment. Around midnight, further highlights will follow: The raffle drawing for the main prizes will take place in the ballroom, as well as the midnight show. During the midnight show we will listen to the best rock'n'roll hits performed by Andy Lee Lang. And afterwards we will all meet for the public quadrille in the Festsaal, which will be led by Roman Svabek.

Ziehrer Hofball Orchestra

The ZIEHRER-HOFBALLORCHESTER is one of the most famous dance orchestras in Vienna and is a guarantee for the musical accompaniment of a traditional Viennese ball night in keeping with the tradition. Special emphasis is placed on the appropriate interpretation of Viennese dance music. The repertoire includes dance numbers for young and old: classical Viennese waltzes, polkas, quadrilles, tangos and evergreens. BROADWAY Big Band

The Broadway Big Band is committed to the traditional big band sound of the "Golden Aera of Swing". At the WU Ball, the band, led by "Playing Captain" Gerhard Aflenzer, will present a varied program on the stage in the Festsaal, including both standard dances and Latin American rhythms. The Broadway Big Band also places great emphasis on current hits, in big band style of course.

Andy Lee Lang (midnight show)

Rock'n'Roll has a name in Austria: Andy Lee Lang. The exceptional artist is a guarantee for atmospheric rock'n'roll and has been performing fireworks of music and entertainment on stage for decades. During the midnight show at the WU Ball, we will experience the greatest hits of the most famous rock'n'roll legends in a unique musical potpourri - from "Johnny B.
