How to get to the Hofburg

Public transport, which will bring you directly to Hofburg

Subway: U3 (orange subway line), Station "Herrengasse"
Tram: 1, 2, D, J, Station Burgring
Bus: 2A and 3A, Station Hofburg

Access by car

From the A4 (Ostautobahn) in the direction of Vienna City-Cnter, then continue on to the "Ring street towards Hofburg.

From the A2 (Südautobahn) in the direction of Vienna City-Cnter, then continue on to the "Ring street towards Hofburg.

From the A1 (West highway) in the direction of Vienna City-Cnter, then continue on to the "Ring street towards Hofburg.


Arriving by train

from the western railway station (Westbahnhof) in about 15 minutes with the U3 (orange subway line) to the station "Herrengasse" (direction Simmering) from the southern station in about 15 minutes by tram line D to station Burgring

If you plan to come to the ball directly by car please be careful not to park around the Statue of Erzherzog-Karl and the green areas when there is snow on the ground. Please also note that during the ball season an increased number of police checks are carried out! We therefore strongly recommend you to use public transportation or cabs to ensure that you can have a perfect ball experience!
